One of my passions in life is teaching drums to younger people. I currently have 13 students that I teach every other week and I absolutely love it when they come to the house and play. My students range in age from 10 to age 15 and they know what I am going through based on what their parents have shared. I was blown away yesterday afternoon when one of my student’s parents drove up and presented me with a huge basket full of wrapped packages.
In the card was a list of beautiful and touching sentiments expressed by the students and their families. One read, “we hope on days you are not feeling your strongest, you will go into the basket & open a surprise.”
I was overwhelmed and needless to say curious along with my 18 year old son, Matt, who is chomping at the bit to open even one of the many many packages in the basket. So far, I haven’t had a bad day but I might fake one after my next treatment (this Thursday) so I can get a peek at one of the contents.
This is an example how something so unique and witty can perk up a person’s day so very much. Thank you to my wonderful students and their families!
