You might wonder what cancer patients talk about when they are going through treatment. Well let me share one of the conversations I had recently with someone else who is experiencing a similar side effect of chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy is coupled with several pills. In my case; anti nausea pills, steroids, anti anxiety (optional), Benadryl, and a few others. All of these pills and medications can cause the plumbing to “stop up” and this was the conversation we were having.
We talked about what we do to “clear the pipes” and what worked and what didn’t. After my first treatment I was so bad I was thinking about going to CVS and buying the Magnesium Citrate you have to drink before getting a colonoscopy. Then I remembered how I felt during my two spring cleanings before my surgery. I don’t know which is worse.
My friend shared with me her remedy which I might just try the next time it happens. A pitcher of Margaritas! Not sure if it’s the alcohol, the salt on the glass or the limeade concentrate. It worked for her but it might have just been timing. She was ready to blow.
Either way, she has a huge advantage that I don’t. She’s married to a plumber!
