It’s Been Too Long

I am so sorry that I haven’t written in my blog for almost 3 years now.  When I was at the hospital last month for my monthly port flush and blood test, I was met by a woman who said, “I know you”.  I smiled and quickly checked my memory banks for whether or not I recognized her and unfortunately nothing came to the surface.  I then asked her how she knew me and apologized for not recognizing her.  She told me we had never met, but she was following this blog for the longest time and when there were not writings, she thought I had become very ill or died.

Well, I’m not dead yet!

This meeting gave me inspiration to start writing again.  So this is the first of a monthly blog entry telling everyone what I have been up to the past three years.  And boy is it filled with good stuff.

This coming Feb. 8th will mark 10 years to the day that I was originally diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.  Most of you know I had a recurrence 6 years later (4 years ago) almost to the day, which I can tell you all was caused by stress.  Stress is one of the top 3 reasons cancer will occur or in my case reoccur, so I have downsized my stress level, only doing things that make me smile.  I had 15 great years of teaching drums to young children and in June of 2016 I had my last recital and included a number of 78 students I had taught over the years.  This has allowed me to focus on my health and my golf game!

I affiliated with a wonderful non-profit organization called Cut Out Cancer that provides free spa services to those going through cancer treatment, and it is there that I share my book, Laughing in the Face of Cancer, and my stories.  It is a volunteer organization that truly makes me smile!

I continue to work one on one with those diagnosed with cancer to give them a glimpse of what I have been through and what they too can overcome.

Smart Clicks, LLC, our computer consulting business, is thriving, but we work reasonable hours and work with wonderful clients.

Stay tuned for more updates
